By the end of the grant program, Mubert is committed to deliver a fully functional, on-chain intellectual property management system that integrates seamlessly with its AI music generation engine, enabling transparent licensing, decentralized royalty tracking, and interoperable metadata exchange across Polkadot’s Rollup network.

The first development includes:
1. Core On-Chain IP Infrastructure
- A publicly documented and open-source smart contract system for registering ownership and licensing metadata of generative content (primarily music).
- Basic user tools/tutorials to register and verify AI-generated tracks on-chain, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Communication and awareness layer: Articles and posts explaining Polkadot integration to build trust and attract adoption.
2. AI Content → Blockchain Bridge
- A working integration where each piece of music generated by Mubert AI is automatically registered on-chain.
- A testnet demo of the full lifecycle: from generation → fingerprinting → on-chain IP registration → readiness for monetization.
3. Decentralized Storage Layer
- A live, working mechanism to store generated tracks (or related metadata) using decentralized storage networks (e.g., StorageHub).
- Includes code, user documentation, and testing proof that content can be uploaded, retrieved, and verified without centralized servers.
4. XCMP: Cross-Rollup Metadata Sharing
- A functioning system for cross-chain communication of music metadata (like authorship, genre, licensing terms) using Polkadot’s XCMP protocol.
- Real-world or simulated proof that music-related data can move freely and securely across Rollups (e.g., for downstream licensing, audit, or analytics use).

- Inline documentation and a basic user tutorial
Milestone 2: Integration with Mubert AI
- Source code demonstrating the automatic registration of AI-generated content on-chain
- Inline documentation and user tutorial on how to test AI content registration.
- Testnet setup and demonstration of the Mubert Chain
Milestone 3: Decentralized Storage Support
- Source code demonstrating decentralized storage functionality (StorageHub or Polka Storage Rollup Project)
- Inline code documentation and tutorial on decentralized storage testing
- Testing evidence for file upload, retrieval, and management on the chosen decentralized storage network
Milestone 4: XCMP
- Source code supporting XCMP metadata sharing between Rollups.
- Inline documentation and user tutorial on how to test XCMP functionality.
- Evidence of metadata being shared across at least one other Rollup or simulated environment.
