10 Ideas to Reduce Cheating & “Gamesmanship” in Professional Football.

  1. Ditch the Referee. Players spend so much time gaming the referee, without a referee present, they are more likely to simply play.
  2. Give the team Captains 30 seconds to agree on a disputed incident. Failure to agree will result in a sanction no sanction awarded at random by a computer.
  3. Offside rules, goal line/side line infringements all ruled by automatic camera expert systems.
  4. Sensors in players sock and boots which would discriminate between a kick/strike to the ball and to another player.
  5. Mini accelerometers in players kit — arms, legs, wrists, boots etc to determine if pushing or shoving has taken place.
  6. Reduce players match fees if they commit fouls.
  7. Administer electric shocks for professional fouls. Increase the duration of shocks with each offence — players will send themselves off.
  8. Mandatory drug testing for all players after every game — results published online.
  9. Prevent notorious cheats from being eligible for transfer to other clubs.
  10. Allow fans a no-quibble refund if they consider there has been excessive cheating.
