10 Ideas to Reduce Cheating & “Gamesmanship” in Professional Football.
- Ditch the Referee. Players spend so much time gaming the referee, without a referee present, they are more likely to simply play.
- Give the team Captains 30 seconds to agree on a disputed incident. Failure to agree will result in a sanction no sanction awarded at random by a computer.
- Offside rules, goal line/side line infringements all ruled by automatic camera expert systems.
- Sensors in players sock and boots which would discriminate between a kick/strike to the ball and to another player.
- Mini accelerometers in players kit — arms, legs, wrists, boots etc to determine if pushing or shoving has taken place.
- Reduce players match fees if they commit fouls.
- Administer electric shocks for professional fouls. Increase the duration of shocks with each offence — players will send themselves off.
- Mandatory drug testing for all players after every game — results published online.
- Prevent notorious cheats from being eligible for transfer to other clubs.
- Allow fans a no-quibble refund if they consider there has been excessive cheating.
