Khusrau Mirza

--

Khusrau Mirza was the eldest son of Jahangir. Being born into royal Mughal-Rajput bloodline, Raja Man Singh was his maternal uncle. He had his credibility both to Mughal rulers and Rajput rulers.

He was the eldest grandson of Akbar and Akbar decided to choose him as his successor. It obviously created rift between him and his father. Eventually Akbar died and Humayun was chosen as Emperor.

In 1606, Khasrau decided to rebel with some young Mughal and Rajput princes and officials. He had around 4,000 horsemen with him and started marching towards Lahore.

Jahangir easily disbanded the rebellion and punishing him by blinding him temporarily.

In 1622, he was killed by his step brother Prince Khurram, whom we know as Emperor Shahjahan.
