The Interested Challenge

Dale Carnegie is a writer but famous for his contributions for the personal development, public speaking and interpersonal courses, which he managed through external research and interviews with renowned personalities.
Dale’s famous creation, his all-time wonder book “HOW TO WIN FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE,” a chapter named “DO THIS AND YOU’LL BE WELCOME ANYWHERE” have some serious saying on how people will influence by your act & emotions and tells everybody a story about his childhood pet i.e a dog. He shares all his feelings about the actions of the dog, trying to tell us through this tale about the value of care and attention which is the general urge of everyone. His famous saying from the book “You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you” has worked wonderfully once you implemented it.

“The Interested Challenge” began as I started asking my people and friends regarding themselves and for an instance I was trying to let them know about how curious or you can say that how interested I am about them. Among all the things, I observed that everyone was little surprised and felt happy when I asked questions about them because they thought someone is really interested or taking interest in their stories and their work practices irrespective of its own benefits. I talked to my uncle (My father’s childhood friend & he was a heart patient) and inquired him regarding their health in a little unusual way “Aur batain uncle ab Dil ke hal kiya hen?” so at first glance he just put me some medical terms and once he realized i’m taking interest in his stories he then started telling me his cheerful stories of early 30’s and how he and my father struggle for the betterment of their families. He added more about his little son (Farhan, he is of my age) that how he (Farhan) confronts him while he need someone to talk to and complemented me that i’m more like Farhan which was really cheerful for me.

The thing which I have learned that by asking questions from others is “ we can’t understand someone else’s ideas while we’re busy thinking about our own.” I make them realized that I actually care about them. By being interested in someone you can win their hearts. Sometimes people just need your attention and they want a person with whom they can talk, and for me, it was a great experience.
