Women Empowerment

Problem Statement:

If you educate a man it means you educate an individual, but if you educate a woman means you educate a family.

A Girl with education is revolution .Undoubtedly women plays vital role in development of society. Even in the contemporary period women have stood shoulder to shoulder with opposite gender for the general cause of humanity. But, unfortunately their efforts have been intentionally ignored . There are many cuases but the major ones are customs, rituals and practices and false beliefs women those deprived a women with their legitimate rights.

As here in Pakistan Women constitutes 51% of the population so we have to take them on board for the betterment of society and to competitive with the competitive world.

The U.N Entity for Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women defines Empowerment as:
“Empowerment means that both women and men can take control of their lives, set their own agendas and goals, acquire skills ,self confidence, solve problems and develop self reliance.”In the political field,In some parts of the society, she is not allowed to exercise her right to vote. Ironically, how is it possible to develop as a nation when half of our population is being ignored with the political rights and left of them those cast vote are not politically socialized because she is not free to vote as per the voice of her conscience.

“No nation can rise to the height of glory unless your women are side by side with you; we are victims of evil customs. It is a crime against humanity that our women are shut up within the four walls of the houses as prisoners. There is no sanction anywhere for the deplorable condition in which our women have to live.” — Muhammad Ali Jinnah, 1944

Women empowerment is inclusive in nature that includes expansion of freedom of choice and action to shape one’s life, control over resources and decisions. Empowered woman will be more self confident, who critically analyses her surroundings and exercises control over decisions that affect her life.

Women empowerment has five components: as women sense of self worth, right to have and determine choices, access to opportunities and resources, power to control their own lives, both within and outside the home and their ability to influence the direction of social change. But here being a Muslim i would like to clear one thing that i will follow the guidelines of Quran and Sunnah ,rather to be a part of some stupid movements like MERA JISM MERI MARZI.

Overall this was a good experience as it helped me to ponder over the exiting social problems in society and to think about their solutions in best way.In coming mega project will surely be putting my all effort to coup with this problem.
