I enjoy the quote by Professor of Environmental Studies and Politics, David W. Orr: “The plain fact is that the planet does not need more successful people. But it does desperately need more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers and lovers of every kind. It needs people who live well in their places. It needs people of moral courage willing to join the fight to make the world habitable and humane. And these qualities have little to do with success as we have defined it.”

“Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” — Mark Twain

Benefits:

Kindness has many benefits including increased happiness and a healthy heart. It improves our relationships and connections and also increases the age that boots our health indirectly.

Kindness effects more the giver than the receiver and it has strong connection with mental health and emotional well-being.

Dr. Masaru Emoto done a series of experiments observing the physical effect of words, prayers, music and environment on the crystalline structure of water. Emoto hired photographers to take pictures of water. The results were just astounding. When the words of kindness and love were delivered to the water ,it formed a complete crystal structure when compared to words of hate and anger.

As our body is made up of approximately 70% water ,so kindness has direct effect on our body.

5 little acts of Kindness:

After reading about the kindness quotes and inspirational stories I have decided to do few little acts of kindness. Here is what I have done!

1)Wall of kindness

It is a charity work phenomena and welfare process, where a place is assigned along the roads for the purpose of helping others. People hang their old clothes to that place and needy people can use it without asking or begging to anyone.

So I have also decided to contribute in this noble cause. I have some old clothes but were in good condition. First I search for the wall of kindness in the city and i may able to find it near the University Of Agriculture Faisalabad. I packed some clothes and hanged there.

2) Helping Poor

I often give money for Sadqa in the Mosque but then I thought, I should also give money to some deserved ones. One day I was going on bike to somewhere when I saw a mother with her little children begging along side the road. I stopped my bike and gave some money to her and in return, received many prayers.

3) Having discussion with an aged person

Now a days, I am residing in the hostel of University Of Agriculture Faisalabad. A cobbler is sitting outside my hostel always busy in his work. He looks very poor and he is aged person. One day, I went to him and have a conversation with him. I talked to him about his life and he explained me about his past life. He felt very happy when I talked with him.

4) Collected donation for Eidhi Foundation

We (Amal Fellows) have decided to collect money for Eidhi Foundation as there is reduction in donation after the death of Edhi. I with my two other fellows went to Alfatah Mall in the Faisalabad to collect some money. We requested many people for donation, some just ignored us but some people not only gave donation but also helped us. We have done this task in day time between 3pm — 5 pm. It was a hot day but we did not give up. As a result, we have collected 5000 Rs just within 2 hours.

5) Happy Mood

I also tried to show my kindness through my happy mood and big smile. I decided in the morning that I will meet with others with smile and listen to them carefully. I kept my focus on listening others and appreciating others. It was a wonderful experience for me. I felt very special at the end of the day.
