‘‘Believe Happiness is a choice’’

Have you guys ever heard of The happiness Advantage?Like you guys I am also unaware of this concept of happiness.Yesterday I got a chance to watch Ted Talk by Shawn Achor the great researcher in the field of positive psychology. I was really surprised by his findings ‘‘It is not necessarily the reality that shaped us, but the lens through which your brain views the world that shapes your reality’’. Happiness is not predicted by external world/factors in-fact it is predicted by the lens you sees the world.If we change that lens we can change your happiness.So 90% of our happiness is not predicted by external factors it is predicted by the way your brain process the world.

If we want to become successful in our life we need to be happy first.What that means? It means we need to change that lens our brain uses to process happiness. All we have to do is to establish positivity into our brain and needs to change the perspective to see the world,Because your brain at positive performs significantly better and this is what shawn called happiness advantage….

In all our lives we experiences negative thoughts,emotion and feelings and its natural but what we need to do is to focus on the positivity in our lives.I am going to share a story of mine where I had experienced these negative emotions. Last week I am working on my final year thesis which is quite a hectic job for me because my other fellows as well as teacher is no cooperating with me and I had to complete It in two weeks period and I thought that I cannot do it but after reading an article written by Shawn Achor I came up with a solution to overcome this feeling of regret and failure.

In the first step I brought Gratitude to my mind. Practicing this for the whole I used to find three new things, which I found grateful. And in this way my whole concentration was diverted in the search of positivity. Which helps me to bring positivity in my mind.

Second I used to engage myself in the conscious act of kindness. I wrote a thank you email to my Amal Alumni to admire their efforts they put together last week during our session by conducting mock interviews.After receiving appreciation from them I really feel encouraging in doing conscious act of kindness and this bring positivity to my mind.

So its important to make our mind clear from sufferings and negative emotions.There is a general formula for success ‘‘If i work harder I will be more successful ,and if I would be more successful then I would be even Happier’’.So we have to reconsider it If we will be happier Than As an outcome we would be successful.So research have shown that 75% of those employees are successful at their job who had optimism and positivity in their attitudes.
