Pomodoro 🍅 Technique!
Starting with the holy name of Allah, the most beneficent, the most merciful.
If you don’t master your time, it is of much higher probability that you will become an unconscious slave to people who have mastered theirs. (Brandon A. Trean)
A Quick Overview about Pomodoro Technique:
The Pomodoro Technique is a time management tool developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s.It uses a timer to break work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. This technique have number of steps, highlighted below.
Steps to Follow:
1- Identify your tasks for a day.
2- Set a timer for 25 minutes.
3- Work for the duration of the timer.
4- Take a 5 minute break.
5- After every fourth break, take a longer break of 15–30 minutes.
My Experience:
A have applied this technique while working on the Amal Project work entitled “Make your Digital time Grid” to manage my time effectively. Unfortunately, I’ve faced many distractions. But fortunate thing is that, I’ve completed my quality project work on time. I want to share some challenges that I’ve gone through.
Challenges:
1- Disturbance created by mobile notifications.
2- Family activities.
3- Younger brother came out to me to take university admission process guidance.
4- Concentration to timer is somewhat irritating.
What I’ve Learned!
Main thing I have learned through this activity is about the name of this technique “Pomodoro”. I’m writing it main thing because I had applied this technique many time before, especially for exams preparation and I got amazed when I knew about the name which I already used in the past.
Secondly, I learned about how to stay activated with project assigned and also it tells me the importance of “Kam Kam Kam” and how to deal with procrastinators which are pushing ourselves to our comfort zones.
Finally, I’ve learned about the importance of “1440 minutes per day”. Now, I’m gona apply this technique to upcoming projects. I also want to share the outcome of the project which I described earlier.
Outcome of My Project Work!
Procrastination can be overcome with effective time management skills and strategies.
