Deewar-e-Meherbaani
A Project of Community Welfare
The concept of deewar-e-meherbaani was originated in Iran and is now being implemented on a larger scale in Iran and also in several cities of Pakistan as well including Peshawar, Karachi and Lahore. The basic idea is to enable the underprivileged to have access to the daily items of basic needs like clothing, shoes, belts and other miscellaneous items of this kind. Through this initiative, those who are unable to afford to buy clothes and shoes might be able to wear reasonable clothes and shoes without having to spread their hands in front of anyone. Moreover, the clothes that don’t fit someone or have become smaller without being worn much might find a great use in the hands of the needier ones.
What we intend to do? Well, the plan is to take this idea to a next level by establishing new avenues for this deed of social welfare as well as reviving the old ones. The current wall that we want to revive is located at the lower mall near Civil Lines College. Other potential locations can be Data Darbaar and Shalimar Town.
The team leader will assign the tasks appropriate for all the members as per their skill-set including himself. One member will be given the responsibility of publicising this deed through social media. He will create a page on Facebook and another member will be taking care of making the posters using photoshop or some other useful tools for posting online on the page. All the members will actively take part in the publicity of the event by posting on the page’s wall, sharing it with their friends and family as well as Amal Alumni through their social media accounts on Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, and Instagram. Although one team member will be responsible for one particular task, all members will be supporting each other in their respective tasks. Two persons will be handling the work of arranging and establishing the hooks or stands for hanging the clothes and shoes.
Aside from that, what we plan to do is to organize an event of Wall-Painting so that people will get aware of its existence and be positively motivated to contribute to this noble cause and convince others as well. Paints will be provided by us for this competition, a minor contribution of 50 Rs will be fixed to participate in the competition. We will proactively advertise our event through our contacts and social media, even a prize will be given to the winner. The purpose is to make the wall decorative and attractive for people to see. Participants will be highly encouraged to bring along any clothes or accessories that they had like to donate and they will be hanged then and there right after the inauguration ceremony. It will be the moral obligation of all the team members equally to contribute to this wall of kindness and keep it readily available to those in need and maintain it in the best way possible.
Here is a glimpse of what we are aspiring to achieve!
To sum up, I had like to add that the work has already begun on this project, many people are willing to donate and will hopefully be happy and excited to participate in the wall-painting competition as well. We have decided that we might be having the wall-painting contest about two weeks from now after properly advertising it as much as possible to ensure a healthy number of participants.
All in all, we are trying to take an initiative that has the capability to sustain with the consistent contribution of the public and that may directly benefit the needy ones.
