(Interviewing the HR’s)

Our teacher urges to have an interview with HR and ask him question which help the freshers to get hired and put some considerable impact on the job market and interviewer. It was strenuous activity but the splendid one. I along with my team mates Abdullah and Imtiaz started contacting with the HR’s of engineering companies to get the appointment for interview, through email, calling out to their PA’s and networking. We got no response through email but finally we were able to reach an HR of NESPAK ( National Engineering Services Pakistan) through the reference of Abdullah’s uncle.

NESPAK is multinational state owned company of Pakistan which provide consulting, construction, and management services globally, specially in Asia and Africa. We interviewed Mam komal, who was the HR assistant at their head office. The main thing that we got to know there that HR’s manager usually ask situational questions, in which they judge the candidate by asking that how will they act and solve the specific locus. Let me give you an example, The recruiter might ask, What are you gonna do when power plant has stopped working due programming issue in an automatic switching and your manager had intimidated you that he is going to fire you if he couldn’t get the power back in 10 min? Obviously you should turn the system manual, solve the programming error and turn the system back on its normal condition.

According the HR, GPA matter’s a lot and is forever. While the skills are the things that can be ameliorate and refined with passage of time. You must be out standing in both skills and in your score as well. Your total attainment is going to give you the first push to enter the job market and good impact on recruiter, while your skills has to deal with the sustainability in interviews as well as in profession. These skills incorporate both technical and transferable skills, the skills you learned in institutions, in labs and the skills you learned through practical experiences in life. In a case you have a good research about the company, dressed well and incredibly passionate about the job, only the tally and expertise are going to add up a considerable part in your selection. It is my candid advise to sharpen your capabilities for this purpose you can design an outstanding projects in graduation , get high grades in schools specially in your majors, if your specialization is in power than you must have good grip on Power system Analysis and get your self prepared for the situational questions.

Self confidence is the best outfit, rock it and own it. According to another HR we met at DESCON pvt. limited “Confidence is superpower”. Most of the fresher can’t get the job right after the completing the degree is due lack of trust in themselves. Don’t give confusing answers, its OK to say no if you don’t know. Sometimes you may have to give diplomatic answers but don’t forget to gather your nerves at that time.
