WHERE TO FIND TASTY COFFEE IN JAPAN
An experience based on my visit in early May 2018 to Japan for a week. With it’s strong good culture, most coffee shops in Japan had an outstanding service & quality. Listed below are some of the most representative coffee shop at the moment.
Pro Tip : Most coffee roasters in Japan serve compliment a cup of coffee when you purchase their roast beans.
- Glitch Coffee Roaster
A nice shop at street of Chiyoda with a warm & welcoming ambience with friendly barista’s. Glitch serve a tasty & balance filter coffee with fancy presentation.
2. Onibus Coffee
Located nearby a train station, this shop become a hidden gem around the area. It’s a super lucky moment when the shop are having their roast production with those extra scent of roasted beans.
3. % Arabica Kyoto
After having a couple photo shoots in Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Kyoto take a bus for 2 stops (or Walk) to % Arabica. The famous shop that quite most of tourits across the country visits. Don’t surprises if it takes a long q for a cup of coffee.
4. Takamura Coffee Roastery
Located in Osaka, it is quite big sized coffee shop with a style of garage and retail of any fnb inside the store. Coffee was good, barista’s were nice but it is a kind of co work space so dont surprised if everyone’s into their laptops.
5. Fuglen Tokyo
Back in Tokyo, to one of my favourite shops in Japan. Fuglen tokyo been a serious gangster in speciality coffee scene in Japan. I’ve taste the espresso, cappuccino, filter and all turns out great. With surrounding’s of lovely neighbourhood, it is perhaps one of the OG in Japan.
6. Maruyama Coffee
With their Barista placing 2th in the World Barista Championship, Miki Suzuki has been a guarantee for it’s customer to have a great cup of coffee. Crisp & silky milk based with tasty espresso is a real danger for their competitor.
7. Verve Coffee Roaster
Verve coffee basicly came from Los Angeles. Like most of it’s elder coffee brand like Starbucks & Blue Bottle, they open their first overseas branch in Japan. Coffee were so good (like srsly so gewd). Their merch were fancy & well designed too.
8. Blue Bottle Coffee
The most excited shop that i’ve been waiting for a while to visit, with well trained Barista, great coffee, nice interior & so on, this coffee shops brings a new standard for coffee chains across the world.
9. Koffee Mameya ( Known as Omotesando Koffee )
Mameya was a unique shop in central of Omotesando are. They only serve Espresso, Filter Coffee, & Coffee Beans. Please wait for your turn as they serve each people around 5–7 min due to a deep customer acknowlede & intimate session as it been their signature.
