Experience 6

In an Amal fellowship, we have given the activity to approach the HR manager and giving him an elevator pitch as well as dropping resume and cover letter personally. I have never experienced such type of activity before. The beauty of Amal team is that it really puts a learning into your body and soul.

So, before starting this activity, I chose ZKB company and made a research on it. I said one of my friends, who is currently working in ZKB, to find out the name of HR and his schedule. After that, I prepared my elevator pitch and learned it. Next morning, I reached near the elevator in the company’s office. When HR manager came near the elevator to go his special office, I met him. First of all, I became dread that how I start my pitch. I had only 1 minute. But I combined all of my nerves and initiated discussion after greeting. he listened to me carefully and took my resume from me. after completing my pitch, he smiled a little and advised me “Be natural” It’s because that I didn’t communicate my pitch but recite after cramming. I learned from this activity that we should not fake ourselves. It was my good luck that HR person was a kind man who said me nothing except a piece of advice, otherwise, he definitely refused to accept my resume. This activity also helps me how to conquer fear. If we only conquer our fear we will succeed in our life. Because I know that success and happiness lie beyond maximum fear.
