Emotional Quotient:

From research, Emotional Quotient is defined as;

Emotional Quotient refers to an individual’s ability to perceive, control, evaluate, and express emotions. People with high Emotional Quotient can manage emotions, use their emotions to facilitate thinking, understand emotional meanings and accurately perceive others’ emotions. Emotional Quotient is partially determined by how a person relates to others and maintains emotional control.

Intelligence Quotient.

Intelligence quotient is a score derived from one of several standardized tests designed to assess an individual’s intelligence. Intelligence quotient is used to determine academic abilities and identify individuals with off-the-chart intelligence or mental challenges. Emotional Quotient is a better indicator of success in the workplace and is used to identify leaders, good team players, and people who best work by themselves. People with higher Intelligence quotient can think in abstracts and make connections by making generalizations easier.

What’s More Important (Intelligence quotient or Emotional Quotient)?

There are differing perspectives on whether EQ or IQ is more important. Those in the EQ camp say “A high IQ will get you through school, a high EQ will get you through life.”

In my opinion, The IQ and EQ level are different in different persons. It is possible that a person has a high IQ level, but low EQ count and vice versa. Therefore, the methods of checking IQ and EQ also differs. Your IQ is what determines your competencies and individual capacities, but your EQ determines how you interact and treat people in your life, it shows how you are going to cope with pressures or face the crisis. The difference between these two is that no one can alter his/her intelligence or reasoning abilities, but anyone can learn to handle emotions, to bring success for him.
