Who is Erik Ten Hag

Erik Ten Hag was born on 2 February 1970.He is a Dutch professional football manager and former player.He is currently the Head coach of Dutch side Ajax.
Ten Hag played primarily as a center back for fc Twente,De Graafschap,RKC waalwijk and fc Utrecht.He had three different spells with fc Twente,where he won KNVB cup in the 2000-0 campaign.
Also Erik Ten Hag won the Eerste Division with De Graafschap in the 1990-91 campaign,ten years later he won the cup again with fc Twente.

He retired from active playing in 2002 at the age of just 32 while playing for fc Twente,after the Eredivisie 2001-02 season ended.Erik Ten Hag has played over 330 matches in his playing career and scored exactly 15 goals in total.

Ten Hag started his coaching career after his playing days are over.But it is in 2012,that he was appointed as a manager of Go Ahead Eagles in the Eerste Divise by Marc overmars,who was a shareholder of the club.He spent only one campaign there.During his only season at Go Ahead Eagles,he led the team to it’s first promotion in almost 17 years.He then coached Bayern Munich ii from 6 June 2013 until 2015 when he was replaced by Heiko Vogel.
Ten Hag then became the sporting director and head coach of fc Utrecht in the summer of 2015,where he led the club to fifth place during his first campaign.In his second season the final position of fc Utrecht improve in which the finish the season in fourth position,the book a place in the Europa league qualifiers.
On December 21,2017,he was appointed as the Head coach of A F C Ajax after the club part ways with Marcel Keizer.In 2019,he led his Ajax team to the semi final of the 2018-19 Uefa Champions league for the first time since 1997,by defeating defending champion Real Madrid 4-1 in the Santiago Bernabeu at the round of 16,and also beating juventus 1-2 having drawn the first leg 1-1 at home.In the first leg of the semi final,he led his team to take 1-0 lead against Tottenham in their recently completed stadium.However in the return leg, Lucas moura scored a hat trick for Tottenham with the last goal been scored in the 96 minutes to make it 3-2(3-3 on aggregate) to win on away goals,ended Ajax hopes of playing in the final.
He won his first trophy with Ajax on 5 may 2019,the 2018-19 KNVB cup,beating Willem ii in the final.10 days later after winning the cup,they also won Eredivise as well after a 1-4 away victory over De Graafschap and brought the double back to the club.
On 18 April 2021, Ten Hag guided Ajax to their record extending 20 KNVB cup with a 2-1 victory over Vitesse in the final.After two weeks with winning the cup,Ten Hag extended his contract with Ajax through to the end of 2022-23 season.On 16 January 2022,Ten hag became the fastest manager in league history to reach 100 wins with Ajax,achieving the feat in 128 matches,when his side beat fc Utrecht 3-0 away on match day 19.
Erik ten hag will sign his new four year deal with Manchester united this week with details being completed as he prepare Ajax for the remaining matches of the campaign.
The search for suitable back room team to support him will intensify this week with many names of people circulated or linked with the role.
