In the beginning, there were no tomatoes included in the ketchup recipe.

In 544 AD, the first ketchup recipe was recorded & it simply contained;

  • Fish Bladder
  • Fish Intestines
  • Fish Stomach

It’s certainly come a long way since then too that’s for sure.

The modern day bottle of ketchup as we know it actually originated in China & it was called Ketsiap.
