Manga — a delightful experience !!!

Manga is a style of sketching for Japanese comic book. Characterised by large crystal eyes and specific facial and body ratios. Recently I wanted to try an art form which required minimal art accessories and little time. Manga came across as an easy choice- lively expressions, good tutorials and needs just a pencil and paper.

This is the first character I drew; A chibi, characters with big heads and small body, usually portrayed as child like and playful.

First attempt at copying the character went well ! :) seemed easy. Next I did some practice on learning proportions, different body parts, styles etc. Everything seemed fine until I took my first shot at drawing from memory !

OOps ! A total disaster… seems like a total match with what I imagined :D

Really embarrassing ! Guyz please scroll through this fast and control your urges to put sarcasm in comments section ! :D

[ People who want to get their profile pictures done by me, please leave comments ! :P ]

Anyways, this is what happens when you are too impatient. So, I now have been practicing for a week or so, sketching only faces so far, finally some improvements…

This is the first face drawn without any help ! :)

Although its far from perfection, but I thoroughly enjoyed making it.

Still have a long way to go before I can make complete figures (probably another disaster waiting to happen :D )

Will keep you guyz posted !
