The Internet ecosystem was supposed to work miracles for mankind. Instead of amplifying our collaborative impulses, the Internet has exacerbated our worst instincts. It is now enveloped in a toxic culture of hate and mistrust.
A lawless highway, where there is neither laws nor law enforcers, encourages the lowest common denominators of human behaviour.
The paradox is crying out for attention. Policing the Internet will destroy its open architecture and freedom of expression. Zero regulation, on the other hand, encourages predatory and abusive behaviour of the digital users.
