@JC Brobeck I’m the last person to defend Nixon — but for all the detriment he ended up causing the country from a holistic perspective, especially in the final days, Nixon was a scholar. Not technologically savvy though, to hear John Dean tell it. But from all accounts and research Nixon was well read and a learned man — even though I don’t support many of his policies, I definitely see the differences between him and Trump. I honestly believe our current Prez is allergic to scholarship, inquiry and critical thinking. I really do. Absent of his politics, which shift any way the wind blows, there is no clear evidence that he is capable of learning. Even more so, I get the impression from his behavior that he has a disdain for anyone who does engage in scholarship or is mindful and has the ability to assess problematic issues, like, uh, healthcare. And that truly is SAD!
