In The Event Of My Death
Hey there, I was inspired by Kasey Wang’s article that I decided to go ahead and explore this topic myself as well.
So here it is, “In the event of my death”.
“ Hey guys, if you’re reading this right now I’m sure you know I’m dead. At the time of writing this, it wasn’t a predictable occurrence.
Well, I loved a great life full of joy and excitement — lots of excitement. I don’t think one day was completely boring day, thanks to all of you.
To give you a little bit of back story I was born in Los Angeles, California and I was raised decently well with challenges of my own that you have may faced growing up as well. My parents Attoy and Earl Carroll they both grew up working a great deal of physical labor which I’ve learned to respect while growing up considering now I spent a lot of time clicking and designing.
To my close family, my nieces. I know you will all grow to leave a great mark on this world. Read constantly on self help and explore creativity.
“You’re never as good as everyone tells you when you win, and you’re never as bad as they say when you lose.” — Lou Holtz
For my education I traveled to Northern Arizona University and when that didn’t work out I moved onto the Art Institute. The institute really created connections and helped refine my knowledge of design and made me into a huge design nerd.
My first job was at Ring Video Doorbell and I sure did learn a lot from those guys. I made a lot of friends along the way while working, and just really grew up. I couldn’t thank them enough for playing a part in my life.
Now for Celine, I spent my early 20s learning life with her by my side and I don’t regret one bit of it. She’s help grow me as an independent person from simply modeling aspects of her life into mine. Currently as I write this — things are bumpy but I wish her nothing but the best for her future. I hope she has a beautiful family and her future husband treats her right. She’s an amazing beautiful young women who deserves every bit of it.
As you could tell when I wrote this I was in my mid 20s, but you never know what could happen.
For my closest friends while growing up, I couldn’t have picked a better bunch of nerds to grow with. From playing Counter Strike to the early parts of the morning, to skating around Downtown Los Angeles it’s been a blast. I know we all fight our battles internally but it’s great to have a group of people to be around that can often pause that battle internally for the time being.
My 20 seconds of fame from Instagram was quite a ride where I learned to write better and better. You guys have been quite the audience, even though I live no where near Japan. I’m happy you’ve given me your attention, and I never undervalued online friends since then.
Maybe people will miss my dull sense of humor, or awkward encounters. Nevertheless, if I made a mark on your life I just want to thank you for allowing me into yours. Now it’s your time to push this wheel of life and make the most of it. “
Other Notes
Please, I don’t want some sort of expensive funeral. Use your money to help grow yourself and I’ll always remember you.
Also, read up on Stoic philosophy, this was something that helped ease the pain in my life, I hope it can do the same for you.
Thanks for reading like always you guys.
