John McDowell, 18, is from Milford, NJ, and has been going to flee markets across the state for a year learning how to haggle, bargain and deal with buyers and sellers.

The freshmen business major wants to graduate from Montclair State University with a business degree and establish an Amazon Start-up business. To do that he goes to flee markets to sell tool-kits, posters, stamps, cards, stickers, toys, and other oddities he buys to fund his Amazon pursuit.

McDowell has been to over 20 flee markets and already has an infinite amount of stories from buyers and sellers alike, from a mute man who would only buy things for a dollar to a man who he has in his contacts as “the gold guy” advertises himself as a gold hunter. Though, McDowell recalls one seller he has seen regularly at the markets.
