It hurt. It hurt more than she could handle. She was tired. She was wearing thin. She was lost and needed him while knowing that he didn’t need her anymore. She was on her own now — she was alone and it hurt.

But then one day she awoke with her heart beating fast, and her mind lying quiet. She rose and felt her body become light. She pushed back her hair, and placed her dressed over her stomach watching it flow neatly around her legs.

She peered into the mirror and smiled at the blushed reflection. Staring at herself she remembered the feelings of loneliess, pain and empty forgiveness that caused her suffering over the past few months.

But today was different. Today was new. She was healed and she felt a sense of closure that was starting to grow onto her glowing soul. She found bliss within herself. A delightful bliss that would never be found by anyone else other than the almost pretty girl staring back at her.

I’ll always be your best friend. She whispered to the mirror. These words that he had once promised now coming from her own mouth.

She walked outside and smiled as the sun hit her face. Finally she felt free, she felt happy and oh god, did it feel good.

Don’t let the behaviours of others destroy your inner peace.
