ISLAM AND GOOD GOVERNANCE WINS AWARD

Dr. Muqtedar Khan’s new book, Islam and Good Governance: A Political Philosophy of Ihsan (Palgrave, 2019), has been recognized with an award for excellence for its contribution to Islamic political philosophy. The award was given by the American Federation of Muslims of Indian Origin, a foundation that promotes excellence in education in India. For over thirty years, since 1987, AFMI under the leadership of Dr. A. S. Nakadar has been promoting education and scholarship in India.

Islam and Good Governance offers an alternate pathway for Islamic polity and governance. Based on the Islamic mystical concept of Ihsan, understood as doing beautiful things, the book constructs a new political philosophy of good governance.

Islam and Good Governance has also been selected as one of the Best Political Philosophy Books of All time. Click for more details.
