Flying High — a poem from 1999

Years back I used to write down a few small poems. This summer my daughter is doing a summer camp on writing and poetry. She came home and described about the variety of poems. So I dug into the archives to find a poem to post here.

FLYING HIGH (AUG 26, 1999)

Flapping the wings

with keen eyes

of love and passion

aimed at the goal

towards the other bird

that is flying higher.

Can this bird

continue soaring so high?

Yes.

Stillness of pond

Violence of ocean tide

Serenity of snow clad mountains

Breeze on ocean front

Greenness of Greenlands

All had no effect

on this bird

with its

calmness of mind

it has called on

all the inner forces.

It continues to fly high
