Q Sciences on Facebook

Q Sciences is a multi-level marketing company started by former NFL quarterback, Marc Wilson, to spread the “Quintessential Lifestyle”, and empower others to improve their health.

Multi-level marketing (MLM) is a controvresial business structure that involves the continual recruitment of distributors. The FTC has issued a warning to consumers to be wary of companies such as these that rely on recruitment as it can be an indicator of an illegal pyramid scheme.

Q Sciences sells a variety of supplements including collagen, protein powder, and vitamin sprays, but the product that’s recently put them under scrutiny is part of their CBD line.

What is CBD?

CBD (cannabidiol) is one of the active chemical components of cannabis. Research on CBD is still in its early stages, but studies have suggested that it can help with conditions such as anxiety, insomnia, and chronic pain. Unlike THC, CBD does not cause a high.

Regulation of CBD is varied across the US, but in a majority of states consumers can purchase CBD products provided that they contain less than .3% THC.

Q Twist Calm

Q Twist Calm is a CBD product sold by Q Sciences. It’s a water-soluble drink mix that creates a peach lemonade flavored bevarage that the company claims “supports stress relief and calms anxiety”.

According to the packaging, Q Twist Calm contains 10mg CBD per serving and is THC free.

Tara Page Truax on Facebook

Tara Page Traux, a former Q Sciences distributor, became suspicious of the product earlier this year when her husband failed a drug test to become a firefighter. She was shocked as her husband didn’t use marijuana and claimed the only cannabis-based product he used was the Q Sciences Q Twist Calm packets.

In her Facebook post, she shares her story and lab test results that were independently performed on the Q Twist Calm packets, at her request.

According to the results, this lot of Q Twist Calm contained D9 and D8 THC, both in amounts that exceed federal regulation. Not only did the product contain THC it also contained less than half the advertised amount of CBD.

Tara claims that she brought this to the attention of Q Sciences, yet the company failed to notify distributors or recall the product. She also alleges that this issue is likely in multiple lots of the product.

In the comments of her Facebook post, other distributors have shared their personal stories of failed drug tests allegedly due to Q Sciences’ CBD line.

It’s important for companies to do their due diligence on products and ensure accurate claims and labeling, especially with controlled substances.

If you or someone you know has taken Q Twist Calm or other CBD products produced by Q Sciences, please look into these claims for yourself.
