The author’s experience and motivation to heal the disorder

In the winter of 2022, I realized that I was suffering from OCD. My childhood had shown small symptoms that gradually grew until my friends began to notice and brought it to my attention. I want to share with you the specific compulsions I experienced last year. One of my rituals involved knocking on a tree three times and saying “Astakhfirullah” whenever I had negative or non-autocratic thoughts about my future. It didn’t matter where I was or how long it took, the important thing was to perform this ritual. Additionally, I would wash my hands whenever I felt dirt or imagined bacteria on them, as a way to calm myself and feel cleaner. These compulsions made it difficult for me to focus on tasks, often taking me more than two hours to complete one. To quiet the constant thoughts, I would try to talk to myself and find ways to calm down. However, I reached a point where I grew tired of it all and began searching for solutions. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the financial means to seek professional help or medication, so I delved into studying OCD on my own. While many studies suggest that OCD is a chronic condition with no complete cure, I hold a positive belief that if cancer can be cured, so can OCD. Additionally, there are many individuals like myself who lack the resources for high-quality therapy and medication. This led me to explore ways to improve the condition and treatment of OCD.

8 Ways to heal OCD:

1 Become aware of your habit

What obsessive thoughts or actions do you have? What are you repeating? What don’t you like? Why did you create such a habit? How does this habit help you? How is this habit bad for you? You must be honest and sincere with yourself to solve the problem correctly and effectively, also you can add your questions. Write all your answers to these questions on paper, in a diary, or a draft. All this is to be aware and to accept your habits and thoughts. Write all things that you want to handle, cure, and get rid of.

2 Compare your all bad habits and thoughts

The second step of mindfulness is to compare the habit’s effectiveness with other people’s habits, and then it will cease to make sense. Yes, at first it sounds bad, «Why should I compare?», just continue to read and you will get it. It is not about comparing you with others. This is only comparing bad habits with other people’s bad habits. That is, you must understand that your faith gives strength to any of your creations. When you believe a charlatan, he can deceive you and become richer if you give them money. Here your money is your faith. Your goal is to transfer your faith to the other side — to the positive side, making the charlatan weaker — that is, the habit. Do you get the point? Okay, what about the comparison? Let me give you a better example, hypothetically, I have an obsessive habit of banging on the table three times and saying “Bismillah” when I talk or think about the bad outcome of my future (like this happens almost always), and my friend in such situations, there are no habits. But we have the same life, and everything will be fine for both of us in the future. This means that for other people with the same similar situations, the outcome is normal and everything is fine without any habits. In this way, you rethink your habit and even reset it.

3 Negotiate with yourself.

Talk to yourself, have conversations, and connect with yourself. You can even drink and eat whatever you like by pampering yourself. Make a promise to yourself to respect yourself and obey yourself, then you will be able to control everything that happens in your head. That is, create that reality of thoughts in which you will be comfortable and pleasant.

4 Catch your thoughts

Catch your thoughts and habits, when it comes, immediately nullify the meaning and talk it over with yourself. I will show an example, to stop my obsessive thoughts about my actions, or about anything, I ask myself what is the point of this and how it will help me. I think the answer is obvious to the question, it makes no sense. You must come up with a meaning in the non-existence of your habit, a meaning so that it disappears, and come up with a question where the answer will be: There is no meaning, everything will be fine with me.

5 Share your feelings

Get to know your feelings. Of course, if you have a gadget that can download, you can download “Worry Dolls” where you can share your sadness with the doll. And if you don’t have a gadget or you are comfortable without it, it’s best to start a thought diary where you will write everything that happened to you to improve your mood and let bad emotions come out. 6 Minimize things that are affecting you in a bad way

Please minimize the viewing of information about the symptoms and effects of diseases. It sounds strange, but sometimes the information on the Internet may not be correct. At this time, sensitivity may be bright for you, and any information about the disease may affect you badly. Also, minimize contact with toxic people. To repeat, at this time the sensitivity to new information is very bright, and some moments can affect your mood and state. Stay with people who support you to save and love yourself.

7 Add healthy food to your diet

The last thing is eating well to keep your health. Healthy food can affect your body and brain in a good way. Especially, it can keep your positive mood, struggle and destroy stress. In fact, it is better to have fruits with vitamins than pills. For example, Vitamin C can reduce stress by 30 percent. So, keep it in mind and try to eat healthy foods!!!!
