Complexion Reduction: A New Trend in Mobile Design

I’d say that this once again emphasizes that the content is king and since users are becoming more and more hard to engage with and are easily distracted (thanks to the reduced attention span) it’s necessary to remove all the clutter out of the way. So the UIs are thankfully becoming more and more contextual, less obtrusive and ideally out-of-your-way. I’ve started noticing this trend when Google Maps got an overhaul a few years ago when they removed all the unnecessary panels and buttons and Google said that the map is the interface. I’m generally really happy and excited with where it’s heading. Thanks for the post Michael.
