Lesson #5 Evergreen Newsletters

There’s one last piece of the puzzle that’s absolutely essential if you want to build a thriving coaching business: consistent, valuable newsletters.

You see, your email course and sales sequence are great for converting hot leads into clients.

But what about all those other folks on your list who aren’t quite ready to buy?

That’s where your newsletter comes in. It’s your chance to stay top of mind, build deeper relationships, and continuously provide value, so that when they are ready to invest in coaching, you’re the first person they think of.

But here’s the thing: most coaches make the mistake of only emailing their list when they have something to sell.

They go radio silent for weeks or even months, then suddenly pop up with a “buy my stuff!” email out of the blue.

That’s a surefire way to get ignored, deleted, or even marked as spam. 😬

If you want your newsletters to actually get opened, read, and acted upon, you need to be showing up consistently with valuable content that your subscribers can’t wait to devour.

That means:

1. Sharing your best tips, strategies, and insights on the topics your ideal clients care about most

2. Giving them a behind-the-scenes look at your life and business, so they can get to know, like, and trust you as a person

3. Highlighting client success stories and case studies to show what’s possible when they work with you

4. Inviting them to engage with you directly, whether that’s by replying to your email, joining your free Facebook group, or booking a discovery call

And here’s a pro tip: your newsletters don’t always have to be long, complex, or time-consuming to create.

In fact, sometimes a quick, punchy email with one valuable insight or action step can be even more impactful than a lengthy newsletter.

The key is to be consistent, be yourself, and always, always, always focus on providing value.

So here’s your action step for today:

Open up your calendar and schedule a recurring block of time each week to write and send your newsletter.

It could be every Monday morning, every other Thursday afternoon — whatever works for you.

The point is to make it a non-negotiable part of your routine, just like brushing your teeth or showing up for your clients.

Then, start brainstorming a list of newsletter topics and ideas you could share with your list. Aim for a mix of educational content, personal stories, and promotional emails (where you invite them to work with you or check out a new offering).

And remember, this is a marathon, not a sprint.

Don’t get discouraged if you don’t see a flood of responses or sales right away. Keep showing up, keep providing value, and keep building those relationships, and the results will come.
