Along with the varying mythologies related to spiders, their presence has developed their own lore and metaphysical symbolism.

For example, spiders found on clothing symbolizes abundance, prosperity and an increase in financial matters.

In Chinese lore, the presence of spiders in the morning is a symbol of happiness. Whereas a spider in the evening, is a symbol of wealth.

A spider crawling out of one’s pocket means that you will be running into old friends or making new companions soon. Walking into a spider web also symbolizes meeting up with company.

If a bride on her wedding day comes across a spider or a web, it is a symbol of happiness, strength, and longevity.

In old witch craft practices, it is said that catching a spider and placing it in your pocket would help one ward off evil and negative energy, as well as help fight against illness.
