In Person Drop

This was not my first experience so I know some tips before how to deal with the security gaurds. So on Wednesday, I prepared my resume, cover letter and elevator pitch and started my journey to drop my CV in Haleeb Foods Limited. The security gaurd asked me to whom you want to meet. I said I have an appointment with Sir Adeel, I want to meet him. He, without asking any further question, allowed me to enter and directed me towards HR office. I went to the receptionist and asked me I want to meet HR person. He called me that we usually don’t allow, if you have any appointment we can allow you to meet him. I said please convey my message that I am coming from Lahore and wanted to discuss something essential. This became something very critical for me to pass through. I told him that you had Tetra Aspetic Machines, I worked with their team, consider me as a part of Haleeb Foods. Please call HR and do me favor, God will help you alot. After a long discussion I was able to meet HR in office. I used my elevator pitch of 50 seconds and introduce him and handed over my CV, resume, cover letter. He said ok we will let you know, Thank you!

I learned that in person drop of CV eliminiate the first step of CV shortlisting because HR can judge you by your physical appearance. This has also build more confidence in me so next time If I got the opportunity for interview I will be able to adapt to the surroundings easily. I know to whom I will be interviewed and what will be the environment.

I am able to know that it would be better that if I book an appointment on phone with HR Manager, if possible or try to find out at what time he will be available. This will remove the chances of wasting my time and time of others as well.

I person dropping is difficult but if you managed to do it you will definitely creates higher chances for yourself in interviewing with HR Manager. The thankful message which I wrote to HR Manager after my CV drop and the reply from the Manager has given me an identification that I will surely get a call and will be given high priority than other candidates.
