Born toa family of musicians, Ankit hails from Kanpur where his parents owned a music group by the name of “Raju Suman and Party”. His mother, Suman Tiwari, being a devotional singer, performed in the group at religious gatherings.
Ankit developed an interest towards music as a child, and therefore his parents decided to get him trained in Classical Music under the aegis of renowned Indian classical vocalist, Vinod Kumar Dwivedi. Ankit Tiwari participated in and subsequently won many local music events as well as competitions. Ankit along with his brother Ankur Tiwari moved to Mumbai in the year 2007, with a dream to establish his name in the highly competitive Indian music industry.
In Mumbai, Ankit got a chance to work on jingles and made his debut as a music director for the film Do Dooni Chaar (2010). In the year 2011, Ankit Tiwari finally received his first playback singing break with the title track of blockbuster movie, ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster’. Ankit shot to fame with the release of the smash hit, “Sunn Raha Hai” in the year 2012, which not only earned him widespread recognition, but also bestowed upon him several awards and nominations.
