Musicoin and Volareo Rock SXSW

Austin’s Dirty Dog Bar hosts Dirty Fest 2018, sponsored by Musicoin

The Musicoin Project, developers of the world’s first blockchain music streaming service, is making its presence known at the 2018 SXSW Music Conference in Austin, Texas. The platform — which currently hosts over 3,500 artists — is sponsoring the Dirty Fest 2018, a week-long music event at the Dirty Dog Bar on 6th Street. Over 20 bands performing on the bill have presences on Musicoin.

Offering royalties that far exceed those of popular streaming services like Spotify and Pandora (both of which debuted in the U.S. at SXSW), the streaming platform pays artists one Musicoin for each play — instantly and directly.

A key partner of Musicoin — Rotterdam’s Volareo smart speaker — is also being showcased at SXSW. By integrating with the Musicoin blockchain, Volareo allows users to listen to a lifetime of free music while providing instant compensation to musicians. Festival attendees are invited to interact with the device, due to release by the end of 2018, at the New Dutch Wave House (Waller Ballroom) through March 14.

Volareo’s Nick Yap says, “Blockchain technology offers levels of engagement from fans and compensation to the artists that were unimaginable years ago. Powered by Musicoin, we designed Volareo to work seamlessly with this new movement.”

Musicoin (MUSIC) is a smart cryptocurrency and music streaming platform built upon the Musicoin blockchain. Musicians and listeners worldwide are encouraged to visit Musicoin’s official website at
