Not sure I follow your logic that compensating artists fairly and equally disincentivizes creativity. Tracks which people enjoy listening to are likely to be played in their entirety. They’re also bound to be revisited, saved as favorites, shared, and even tipped. It is not our role to be arbiters of what listeners enjoy. Not to mention, the lo-fi house aesthetic has been rather popular in certain circles over the last few years. Not my cup of tea, but… ;)

In the end, Musicoin is a boon for independent artists: their music can be hosted and streamed at no cost, and they’ll receive 100% of streaming royalties instantly. In the case of a band, easily-configurable smart contracts within our system can ensure that each of their members or (session musicians on the recording) get paid their share with every play. Moreover, we’re advertising and subscription-free for both artists and listeners.

Legacy platforms are riddled with ad nags if you don’t pay monthly subscription fees and eat the lion’s share of streaming royalties. If they offer digital downloads, they’ll often exceed $1.25 per track, regardless of length. That’s not us.
