NaPoWriMo Day 1: The April Fool

Happy manic Monday! I got a little behind with NaPoWriMo so today there will be a few posts. Also my previous NaPoWriMo ebooks are available for free on Smashwords. Now without further ado, here’s day 1’s poem The April Fool:

The April Fool

Was naive to think

They could change the

World by studying to

Become a doctor.

The April Fool

Was silly to

Believe the ones

They called friend

Truly understood the

Meaning of the word.

The April Fool

Was so gullible to

Think they could fall

In love three times

And not be

Devastated each time

Their heart broke.

The April Fool

Was stupid to

Trust that their

Writing would improve

When all it did was falter

Even more with time.

…In spite of all their

Trials and tribulations

Past, present and future…

The April Fool

Chooses to remain

Stubborn in their quest

To discover their vocation,

And accomplish their

Goals along the way.

The April Fool

Refuses to give up

And surrender as their

World continues to

Shatter around them.
