(Uralskie Gory)

Originated by the Bashkir language which means “belt”

It is a famous range which is famous for its beautifully arranged mountains in a column which is also called a land of legends.

The natural range starts from the northern arctic tundra to the south Caspian sea which creates a boundary of about 2500km in length and a width of 200 km between the two diff continents: Asia and Europe.

It divides Russia from the West Siberian and East European plains.

This mountainous range includes several tropical areas in which the starting areas are fully covered with snow and then the forested areas lead to the semi-desert areas in which plants are spiky and dry plants.

The geographical location of the Ural Mountains:

When we look at the Ural Mountains which are located between the East of the Arctic Ocean to the south of Kazakhstan they seem to like joining the two continents (i.e Asia and Europe).

They are divided into five parts:

1 polar Urals

2 Pre-polar or Nether Urals

3 Northern Urals

4 Middle Urals

5 southern Urals

1, Polar Urals:

These are the areas that are covered with snow even in the summer. This region includes so many rivers, lakes, and mountains. The vegetation in this area is very rare and the weather is also very unpredictable, the number of rainfall is also doubled related to the eastern slopes.

The highest Mountain which is found there is Mount payer (1,472m). This polar region starts from the Arctic river to the hulga River at about 400km.

2, pre-polar or neither Urals:

This region starts from the hulga River to the Schugor River with a length of 240km and a width of 5–150km.

The weather here is quite continental with a cold breeze.

People often go there for hiking, climbing mountains, rafting, and mountaineering. The highest point of the Urals Mountains is “Narodnaya” (1895km). The rivers kosyu, balbanyu, and kozhim are resources rich rivers which are also full of fish but the thing is that fishing is prohibited there.

The rivers are so clean and transparent so you can see the many meters deep down.

3, Northern Urals:

This range starts from the valley of Schugor and ends at the southern border of Konzhakovskiy Kamen Mountain with a length of 500km and a width of 60km.

Here the weather is quite interchangeable with the summer and winter. Sometimes you find hot days and very cold days. Winter begins within 7 months and is usually very cold and harsh.

There are two famous glaciers govorukhin and southern glacier.

Northern Urals is more accessible and perfect for tourism because you can go trekking, trail running, alpine skiing, skyrunning, and much more. The main attracting points of northern Urals are:

Mount denezhkin, the man-Man-Papu-Ner plateau, the kosvinskiy stone, etc

4, Middle Urals:

Middle Urals starts from the kachkanar Mountain which passed through the upper ufa river which is about including a foothill is 90km. the middle Urals are mostly covered by coniferous forests. As we move to the southern poles these forests are converted into the forest-steppe, due to the warmer and drier air.

The weather is warmer but sometimes foster air is also felt so you can say the weather is volatile.

Middle Urals are nature and children-friendly; people can go there during thier holidays and enjoy their best quality time.

5, Southern Urals:

It is the ends part of the Ural mountainous areas which also passes through the Ufa river in the lower area of ufaley as concerned with as landscape approach which stretches from north to south about 550km.

Due to the foothills, the width of southern Urals is about 250km and because of that, it is the widest Ural in the mountain belt.

The landscape is usually covered by steppes and the weather is quite continental means summer is warmer and winter is colder. Here falls the longest river of the Ural mountains which is known as “Yaik”.

One of the exciting points of southern Urals is that transport is easily accessible there, so you can go there and have fun and do ski tours, biking, hiking, visiting caves, and spend your quality time with your family and friends.
