In order to be able to use the data in official and unofficial studies and to ensure that it can be cited, I created and recorded the data by creating a DOI number. I used Zenodo, the European Commission’s Open Data and Document sharing application. You can generate relevant Citation Indexes here. You can also download tables from this platform, which allows keeping version changes of data.

Introduction

Regional data is crucial for conducting inter-regional economic analyses, understanding productivity, wages, and minimum wage dynamics, assessing the impact of unforeseen events like natural disasters, comparing sectors, and evaluating development levels. Supply-use tables, employment, and demographic statistics are the most commonly used data sources for these analyses.

To address these needs and for my own economic analyses, I have created regional supply-use tables at the province level. Additionally, I have generated domestic input-output tables using the NUTS 2 regional classification for conducting regional and inter-regional analyses in Turkiye. You can access them through the link below.

These tables can be used for performing regional and inter-regional economic analyses. For example, they can be used to:

  • Compare economic growth between regions
  • Compare productivity levels across regions
  • Identify the share of sectors within the regional economy
  • Analyze inter-regional trade
  • Determine the impact of unforeseen events like natural disasters on regional economies

Scope of the Research

This research presents domestic input-output tables for 62 industries in 26 NUTS 2 regions of Turkiye for the year 2022.

Methodology

2022 Supply Use and province-based input-output tables have been produced by me. I shared the methodology in the article in the link below. At the same time, I shared the data published on a province based input-output data from the internet with the help of an application. With the help of this application, you can automatically generate the 2022 domestic input-output table of the region you want. You could create a region automatically for analysis.
