Battle of Billionaires: Elon Musk Vs Mark Zuckerberg

It has been revealed that the data of 50 million users of Facebook was sold to Cambridge Analytica, a British political consulting firm that uses data to change audience behavior (in its own words), which then used the data in some shady ways to help the Trump campaign for 2016 elections.

Much has been written about this in the last few days and I don’t want to get into that. If you are still looking to find out what happened, see this video by The Guardian.

This disclosure has made many people to #deletefacebook, a tag that trended on Twitter. Brian Acton, the co-founder of messaging service WhatsApp, tweeted,

“ It is time. #deletefacebook”

Interestingly, WhatsApp is owned by Facebook which it acquired in 2014 for $19 billion. It is important to note here that as of December 2017, there were 1.5 billion monthly active users in WhatsApp (This is huge).

Anyway, this tweet by Brian Acton has engendered a lot of responses, one of which is from Elon Musk, the billionaire visionary who is trying to change the world through companies like SpaceX, Tesla and The Boring Company.
