Deciding to make a difference takes balls… where are yours?
We all individually march to the beat of our own drum. Whether, knowingly or not, our individual realities are also manifesting simultaneously based on the options that life spells out for us. When we are young, we are asked, “what do you want to be when you grow up;” a fireman, police officer, doctor or perhaps a teacher? We speed through life experiencing love, anger, confusion, passion and all of the emotions bestowed upon us by life itself. We sit alone and ponder our relationships, our jobs and did we make the “right decisions,”… but it seems like that for most, selfishness is blinded by societies social construct.

We travel, we love, we fight, we make love, and we achieve goals while most fail to look at the bigger picture… to serve. I’m not talking about your connection to a community church activity or a mandatory school clean up day. I’m talking about the bigger picture. Just open up your laptop and dig into social media, you can really tell a lot about humanity by surfing the Net. Here you will find a world of love, pain, confusion and see humanities evolution. Whether you subscribe to one ideology or another, it’s a modern day monocle of humanity. So with this tool, begin to judge for yourself if you’re doing what you can to build the world we imagined as children.
I watch humanity scream at itself through pop culture, news and social media channels; and although most of what I see is disturbing, I am able to read between the lines and calculate my own happy and fulfilling existence. In doing so I have come to realize that in order to take a stand and evolve myself, I would have to take a close look within myself and analyze how I lived.
My wife and I share a twenty-year commitment to our relationship, have two beautiful sons, are healthy and live a moderately comfortable upper middle class existence. We own our own business and have managed to travel the world. We appreciate our friends and do our best to connect to our community, but all of that said, I still feeling unresolved.
So, I’ve decided after much contemplation and reflection on my own existence that I would grow a pair and share my stories via social media, pod casting and even by writing a memoir. My goal is simple: to leave a pretty straight-up blueprint to my success. This way my children can refer to it when troubled, look back on it with pride, and hopefully gain some insight into this beautiful yet tumultuous world.
Backing up a bit…I was never really involved with activism or charitable causes while growing up, I simply couldn’t be. My own family traumas and disposition throughout my journey made it very difficult to ever feel grounded to any particular place (or individual), but after almost 44 years on this planet, I have finally seen the light!

Grow a pair and do something for your country. Get involved with your community. Achieve greatness by helping others. Recognize what you do so passionately. Have no fear. Understand the notion of “time flies” so you will save on time lost.
If you haven’t realized it yet, you will soon enough. That time waits for no one. So as you lose yourself and escape within the realms of television, social media and other 21st century distractions, it would be wise to consider your place in life. Will you do what it takes to leave a legacy that one day your family or the masses can learn from? Will you grow a pair of balls and make the necessary changes in your life to become a leader, or will you subconsciously surrender to the everyday algorithm of life?
“If you love life, don’t waste time, for time is what life is made up of.” — Bruce Lee
