Brief Introduction to Metaverse Model Structure
A mainstream blockchain model structure usually comprises of six layers. This includes the data layer, network layer, consensus layer, actuator layer, contract layer and application layer. The Data layer, the bottom layer, mainly encapsulates the chain structure of bottom data in the blockchain. In addition, it includes related asymmetrical public and private-key data encryption and timestamp, which is the bottom layer of data structure of the whole blockchain.
The network layer, which is the second bottom layer, mainly adopts P2P networking technology in order to form distributed networking mechanism, data dissemination mechanism and data verification mechanism. The next layer is the consensus layer which contains a variety of algorithm of consensus mechanisms, such as POW, POS and DPOS mentioned earlier. An actuator layer is complementary with consensus layer. Nodes that complete the ledger will receive a reward, but nodes that fail to comply with the rules will be punished. This needs specific reward and punishment mechanisms embedded in actuator layer to be done. The following is the contract layer and the application layer.
The development of the contract layer is mainly based on the smart contracts of ethereum, which is also one of the symbols of blockchain 2.0. The application layer is used as the top layer of the whole blockchain model structure. This encapsulates all kinds of application scenarios in blockchain, being the direct carrier of all applications.
The Metaverse Blockchain consists of a utilities layer, consensus layer ledger layer and a presentation layer. The Utilities layer contains general functions including basic definition, configuration inheritance, math inventory and data-processing inventory. These general functions are similar to data layer of common blockchain, which creates conditions for the build-up of upper inventories.
In Metaverse, however, the consensus layer contains a network layer, consensus layer and actuator layer. This means P2P networking technology, consensus mechanisms, as well as the reward and punishment mechanisms are placed into the same layer. The ledger layer undertakes most of the business-level processes, and embeds transactions that are different from token transactions, including digital identities, digital assets and assets transfer. In terms of presentation layer, it is in charge of implementing obligations of contract layer and application layer, which are the most intuitive layer connecting users. Moreover, users are able to define some functions and applications via presentations layer’s API.
