Metaverse community— A talk in NTU startup event
On Oct 16th, 2017, Glenn, a member of Metaverse team, was invited as a guest speaker to attend the event ‘Beyond Entrepreneurship, Pay It Forward’ organized by Nanyang Technological University, NTUitive, and X.NODE. He gave a presentation in English on the topic ‘Blockchain in China’. The main objective of this event is for Entrepreneurs to share their experiences throughout their entrepreneurial journey and to provide a platform for them to contribute back to the community.
The Nanyang Technological University (Abbreviation: NTU) is an autonomous university in Singapore. NTU is consistently ranked amongst the world’s best universities in all of the major college and university rankings and is regarded as one of the top universities in Asia. In the 2017/18 QS World University Rankings, NTU was ranked 11th in the world and 1st in Asia.
Glenn introduced Blockchain’s origin, features and operational concepts to let the audience understand simply the technical details and applications of Blockchain.
During the panel discussion, Glenn answered the audience’s questions about Blockchain technology, including the applications and advantages of Blockchain technology. Blockchain is not just a technology used in the finance industry. It can be applied in all walks of life, including artwork investment, gold trading, food testing, luxury identification and even communication software. Glenn believes that in the next few years, Blockchain technology and the Internet will attract more people’s attention and change the way people live.
Glenn gave his advice to students, he hoped that students would pay more attention to trending industries and innovative technologies. In a new industry, they should let go of their traditional mindset. Seize opportunities, do not be afraid to try new things and have the courage to face failure. As long as they set great goals and put in effort, they can be successful in any industry.
