You get just two people together, you need governance.

Agreement on how they will interact, what’s permissible and what’s not, what’s shared and how. What the goals of them being together are.

Build it up to a few million, add some complexity and you’ve got something that really needs a lot of work to keep it going.

That’s governance. Not just the province of governments but the entire community with all its groupings and sub-groupings and cross groupings, morality and religion and individuals as well as groups. Not just rules and roles, but dissent and leadership and powerful ideas both mean and uplifting.

It’s a big task, the most central task in our quest for good societies.

We have made a lot of recent progress, but there’s a long, long way to go.

Here are 10 articles that relate to governance:

  1. Democracy is not enough
  2. Government is not enough
  3. Love is not enough
  4. Party government is not democracy
  5. Everything government doesn’t work
  6. Splitting up government scope
  7. Government is not big daddy
  8. Managing unlimited priorities
  9. Representation, delegation and leadership
  10. Entities are not citizens.
