Silicon Valley Is Right — Our Jobs Are Already Disappearing

Entire professions have been displaced by technology ever since the industrial revolution. With the complete automation of manufacturing, new categories of service jobs will emerge to help people use their additional free time and disposable income. These jobs will require great social skills and broad knowledge, not necessarily technical skills. So our single-minded focus on teaching technology is misplaced. What we need are very adaptable, socially adept workers, not just engineers.
