First Introduction to Beekeeping Workshop Great Success

Prepping for Bees Workshop

Thanks to funding from Community Foundation we have been busy preparing the ground around our bee hives to plant new meadow flowers. We’ve also been able to purchase new bee suits and other equipment needed to safely care for our bee hives.

We are also able to offer free Introduction to Beekeeping workshops to help local people gain an understanding of bee colonies and what is involved in becoming a beekeeper. The first workshop took place on Wednesday 10th May and was attended by 8 people. They thoroughly enjoyed getting hands-on with the bees.

One of the people who took part said, Excellent day, really enjoyed it and hope to find out more and hopefully get bees once I get an allotment”

We have further courses running once a fortnight (weather dependent) with the next one planned for Wednesday 24th May. To book a place contact our reception on 0191 3410033.
