In that case I would go for history (npmjs.com/package/history), it gives very fine grained control over the routing events, and allows to push to history etc. The only think it lacks is a built in a express-like route matching mechanism, but I think there are separate packages that do that out there, and otherwise it shouldn't be to hard to write yourself if you are comfortable with Regexes
