How to Get Test aUSD Stablecoins for MetaMask on Acala Testnet
Here’s a quick tutorial on how to get test aUSD stablecoins for testing purposes. Also known as AUSD, this Acala stablecoin is the official stablecoin for Polkadot ecosystem.
This guide is to receive aUSD in your MetaMask wallet. To get this stablecoin for your Polkadot wallet, follow this tutorial.
1. Connect your MetaMask to Acala Mandala testnet
The official testnet for Acala is called Mandala testnet. Go to ChainList and search for Acala Mandala and add it to your MetaMask and connect to it. The testnet is called Mandala TC7.
2. Get the aUSD from Acala Discord
Join Acala Discord and find the #eth-denver channel. Then, enter the command below.
!drip <your MetaMask wallet>
You will then receive 5 aUSD stablecoins (AUSD).
3. View the aUSD on MetaMask
Add the contract address 0x0000000000000000000100000000000000000001 in your MetaMask and you shall be able to see 5 aUSD in your wallet.
Click on your MetaMask fox head on your browser. Then, click on the Assets tab and click on the text Import tokens (you may need to scroll down a little). Enter the address inside the text field in red as shown below.
Finally, you should be able to see your aUSD stablecoin on your MetaMask.
4. Bind your MetaMask account with your Subtrate account (optional)
Final step is to bind your Substrate account to your Metamask account .You don’t really have to do this but if you do, you’ll be able to use the mirrored ERC20 tokens that you have in your Substrate account with your MetaMask account. If you don’t bind them, the chain will automatically bind a default EVM account to your Substrate account and you won’t be able to export it to your MetaMask wallet.
