Dangerous Eyes

They haunt me, though I never saw the smooth glimmer,

Like a premonition, a fate foretold.

Deep as the Marina trench, hypnotic as the shimmering flames,

With a light like a far galaxy.

I can’t see the face or form or mouth,

But the eyes expand to fill the universe and I can only float in their waters

Unable to escape

The fall.
