Of course the media says the experiment is unclear. The author knows that the government will not allow a second experiment.

It’s not the media, it the author page that says the results are unclear.

This experiment is not about fossil fuels, it is about lowering atmospheric CO2 levels

So, what’s the long term plan here? Keep dumping iron into the ocean thus solving the problem once and for all? If the root cause is not eliminated, this is just a temporary relief.

BTW, when you say that environmentalists block this initiative because it does not require government interference — is that what they are really saying? Or are you just making assumptions? I know for a fact that government does not block all research.

Almost all our energy comes from fossil fuels. To convert to anything else, in a short period of time, would be extremely traumatic to the point of political suicide for politicians that proposed it. A short turn over time would be in generations not decades.

Yep. That’s why I said: not going to happen, we are screwed.

Shortcuts, don’t work. The harder and longer path is the way to make any lasting change.

What you are advocating for sounds like a shortcut to me.

Don’t get me wrong, anything that improves our chances or survival is good, but unless the root cause is dealt with, anything else is futile. Not to mention, “invasive” techniques can have significant side-effects and thus require a lot more research. Switching to alternative fuel sources is something that MUST happen. There is no way around it. If nothing else, they are in limited supply. The only question is who pays the price: we or our descendants.
