Frodo’s ring

I used to call myself poet because

I found these words knocking on my heart’s and soul’s door

There isn’t much I have left out in the past or

more that I could say now.

I have said everything and there isn’t much more to say.

Frodo’s ring doesn’t have much of a story besides the fact that it crossed many seas for a little more than it cost to make and to buy.

I actually could not picture you wearing it.

Frodo’s ring is a promise to me.

It is a promise to do something

It is a promise not to forget

It is a promise to always remember

that I once crossed paths with the light that made mine shine even brighter

For a reason unknown to me as I type these words my eyes are filing up with water

But water dries and frodo’s ring will always remind me of how close I came to knowing more of you

Frodo’s ring will remind me how a fraction of a second before or after

can change a life

But with knowing you all the fractions of the seconds before and after knowing you have changed my life to be where I am this moment and I would not change a tiny little thing

I am here, you are there

regardless of time and space

I will always remember

and frodo’s ring will always remind me never to forget

I hope with every little fibre of my energy that you are doing something that

will never remove that smile on you face because if it were to ever fade

some part of the world will shine a little less
