So, making a long story short, okc has adopted the latest trend in “social media”: Filter bubbles.

Effectively we avoid surprises by placing ourselves into an environment of alleged well-being…by effectively receiving messages only through our own filter bubble. That works well with news already: A racist on Facebook will end up receiving news solely supporting his view point rather than making him reflect on it (if trying for a drastic example here), and an online dating user will ensure to never receive unsolicited self-introductions from anyone not pre-specified in “her” filter bubble.
