These days with the innovation in every field, technology is just answering to every type of need that one might have. For instance, if one has two televisions, then he would be able to use one set-top box and get the connection via a two-way cable splitter. There are two-way splitters and four-way splitters used mostly that one might have in watching the TV.

We are starting with the plugging in of the two-way splitter cable first. Make sure that you have a new splitter, and the cables are all in perfect condition.

2-way splitter

Step-1: Understanding the length of the cable is essential, and one just has to fix the cabling, from the wall perfectly. Tightening up the cable from the socket in the wall with a wrench is vital.

Step-2: The cable from the wall should go into the “in” socket of the splitter, and then you would have to tighten it up.

Step-3: The “out” socket of the splitter would have provisioned for two cables. Have the two cables in each of the sockets, and the two-way cable splitter is ready for the final step.

Step-4: These two cables would now go to the two television sets, and the television is geared up to watch.

Now we shall go to know about installing the four-way cable splitter.

4-way splitter
  1. Since this will be for connecting up to four televisions, the cables would have to be long and there should be a middle point where you would have to keep the splitter. This splitter should be in good condition, and it should not have any obstacle on the path.
  2. Next step would be to install or connect one end of the coaxial cable to the wall socket.
  3. The other end of this coaxial cable should go into one of the four sockets of the splitter.
  4. Cut an inch of the cable to get a smooth finish and then slowly peel and pull back a little of the wire’s outer channeling to reveal the inner white wire and the actual filament.
  5. The four cables should have their wires all pulled and straightened out of the wire channel to ensure that they get the right fit inside the splitter.
  6. Instead of plugging in the cable directly into the splitter, you might try to crimp it or insert it through the connector.
  7. Sometimes, the connectors might also come with a ring that goes through the wire first and fit till the point, the wire ends and the thick outer wire begin. Let it sit there and tighten it before going for the next step.
  8. Put the connector nice and firm and ensure that each part of the wire is tightened up before they go inside the splitter.
  9. The four-way cables are all set for connection to different television units.

It is vital that one takes great precautions to fix the cables right, and they would then work smoothly for a long time. Make sure that you tighten up the cables and have longer wires to ensure that they do not get pulled anywhere. Installation of a 2-way or 4-way cable splitter is not a much difficult task if you follow the steps mentioned above properly.
