APJ Abdul Kalam’s View About Indian Education System & Importance Of Studies

Dr. Kalam loved imparting knowledge to the youths through teaching, writing and motivational quotes. He always believed that educated youth formed the pillars of any developing nation. Education according to him is the principal driving force of personal growth. No wonder that in spite of having so many titles, Dr. Kalam still loved being addressed as a teacher!

In his vision, Indian education system needed certain reforms. Albeit, it covers a wide range of knowledge and details, few reforms like the practicality of the knowledge communicated is required. The Indian education system should be skill based education at the school level where at the tender age, a student will grasp easily. At the 54th Foundation Day of IIT Bombay, Dr. Kalam said that

“The education system has to be designed in a way that produces a large number of employment generators and not just employment seekers”.

As per the view of Dr. Kalam, barring the normal curriculum at the school provided to a student, they should also receive special training towards one specific skill set that will offer an extra certification. This skill certification will not only help them in getting a job after schooling, but will also make them aware of how the real world industries function practically. The introduction of a particular skill set at a tender age will promote entrepreneurship among the youths of the country.

As the World Student Day is approaching, students all across are busy preparing to honour their teacher on his birthday. Students display their act of social responsibility by gathering on campus to showcase the causes they volunteer for. Thoughts and works of Dr. Kalam are enjoyed meaningfully throughout the day. In a nutshell, Dr. Kalam always told that, students should have an aim in life, grasp knowledge through all possible resources, work hard towards it and never accept defeat by the problem, instead defeat the problem and succeed.

Some memorable thoughts of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam will always become motivational for all..

“If you want to shine like a sun. First burn like a sun.”
